Best Roofing Company in Niagara Falls (2026)

Most weeks a Niagara Falls homeowner calls us about a ceiling stain and assumes the gutters are to blame. Sometimes they are.

We clear the downspout, refit a sagging trough, reset the slope, and it is over. Other times we get up there, look at the shingles above the stain, and have to say that no amount of trough work will fix what is happening on the roof.

That conversation comes up often enough to answer the obvious follow up here. Eavestrough, soffit, fascia, leaf guards and siding are what our team installs. Roofing is a different trade with different crews, certifications and liability.

So when a homeowner asks who to call for the roof itself, we give two names. Going into the 2026 season, the roofing companies we recommend in Niagara Falls are D’Angelo & Sons and Niagara RoofMasters.

Why We Refer Roofing Work Out

There is money in saying yes to everything, and plenty of exterior companies do it. The cost shows up two winters later. Quality roofing is a volume trade, and the details that decide whether a new roof lasts, the nailing pattern, how far the membrane runs past the wall line, how a valley is cut, how a chimney is stepped, are habits built by installing roofs every day.

A crew that roofs occasionally between siding jobs never builds them, so we would rather protect your home by handing the job to people who do nothing else. Both companies below carry WSIB coverage, liability insurance and GAF Master Elite certification, which only a small share of residential roofing contractors in North America hold.

D’Angelo & Sons

D’Angelo & Sons has been installing roofs in Ontario since 1978 and is run by the third generation of the family. The service area covers Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Niagara on the Lake, Fort Erie and the rest of the Niagara Region, plus Hamilton, Burlington and the GTA, with more than 50,000 projects completed.

They employ their roofers

Many roofing contractors sell the job and hand the install to whichever subcontracted crew is free that week, so the person who measured your roof is not the person nailing it.

D’Angelo runs employee crews, which is the only reliable way to keep quality service the same on the tenth roofing project of the month as on the first.

What the guarantee covers

A basic shingle warranty replaces shingles. It pays nobody to strip the roof, haul the failed material away and redo the installation, which is most of the cost.

Master Elite status lets D’Angelo write coverage in tiers that include labour, with lifetime and transferable options. Liability insurance sits above five million dollars and the Better Business Bureau grades the business A+. Roofing, siding, windows, doors, insulation and exterior renovations are handled in house.

Niagara RoofMasters

Niagara RoofMasters has worked the Niagara Region since 1995 and is the more locally concentrated of the two, covering Niagara Falls, Welland, Fonthill, Port Colborne, St. Catharines and Lincoln.

Credentials and coverage

The company is a GAF Master Elite and T-REX Elite installer, BBB accredited and WSIB certified, and holds licensed electrical credentials for ESA standard work such as heat cable and venting tied into circuits.

Workmanship is backed by a 15 year labour warranty, which is longer than most of the market offers, and public reviews sit at 4.9 across roughly 90 Google ratings.

What they handle

Roofing, siding, soffit, fascia, eavestrough, skylights, windows, masonry repair, attic insulation, decks and exterior renovations, which means a roof job and the trim work around it stay with one team.

Between the two, D’Angelo suits larger or multi trade projects and homeowners who want lifetime transferable coverage. RoofMasters suits anyone who wants a smaller Niagara only outfit with a long labour warranty. Get a free estimate from both.

Roofing Services Niagara Homeowners Actually Need

Most of the calls a roofing company takes in this city fall into the three below.

Roof repair and emergency roof repairs

A lifted ridge cap, a cracked vent boot, failed flashing at a skylight. Small roof repair caught early is cheap.

After a windstorm, emergency roof repairs are about stopping water entry, documenting damage for the insurance claim, and getting on the schedule before the whole street calls. A roof inspection every few years plus regular maintenance on flashing and sealant is the cheapest protection for the investment over your head.

New roof installation

A full tear off exposes the deck, so soft plywood can be replaced, membrane can run well past the code minimum at the eaves and through the valleys, and ventilation can be corrected during the same roof installation.

Most new roof installation work takes two to seven days. Asphalt shingles average 20 to 25 years of service here, metal 40 to 70, and flat systems 20 to 30. Material warranties follow roughly the same ranges, and coverage that transfers to the next owner adds resale value.

Going over old shingles is cheaper and hides all of it. A new roof installed over a bad deck is a bad roof.

Commercial roofing and flat roofs

Additions, porches and many commercial buildings here use low slope assemblies. Commercial roofing fails at seams and drains rather than in the field, so residential and commercial work are not interchangeable jobs.

What Niagara Falls Weather Does to a Roof

Wet lake snow and ice dams

Squalls off Lake Erie drop dense snow that packs down instead of blowing clear. The Ontario Building Code sets the snow load a roof must carry, but weight is rarely what fails first.

Heat escaping the attic melts the underside of that pack, the water runs to the cold overhang and freezes again, leaving a ridge of ice that holds meltwater against the shingles until it finds a nail hole.

The shingles get blamed. The attic is usually responsible, and the fix is insulation and ventilation.

Freeze, thaw and wind

We cross the freezing mark dozens of times between November and March, and every crossing moves the materials. Movement finds the weak joint first at chimneys, plumbing stacks and skylights, which is why rushed flashing survives one mild winter and fails in the next.

Exposure near the river and the escarpment brings gusts that catch shingle edges at ridges and rakes. Starter course and fastener placement decide whether the roof shrugs it off. Crews that work here year round know this, which is worth confirming with any company you consider.

Comparing Roofing Contractors Without Hidden Costs

Ask who is physically installing, employees or subcontractors, and how far the ice and water membrane runs up from the eaves.

Ask about intake ventilation at the soffits and not just exhaust at the ridge, because a ridge vent without intake pulls air out of the house.

Ask for the workmanship guarantee and the manufacturer guarantee as separate figures, and whether either survives a sale of the property.

Ask for current WSIB clearance, which Ontario roofing contractors are required to carry, and a liability certificate. Two million dollars in commercial general liability is the common minimum.

Insist on a written estimate and contract covering materials, schedule and cleanup. Never pay in full before work starts, and walk away from anyone pressing for a decision on the spot.

Ask the price per sheet if rotten decking turns up after the tear off. Hidden costs are usually just numbers nobody asked about in advance.

Permits in Niagara Falls

Under the rules in force for 2026, replacing shingles on an existing roof usually falls outside permit requirements. Structural work, changes to the deck or framing, and some commercial assemblies do not.

Check with the City of Niagara Falls building division rather than taking a contractor’s word for it. Treat a shrug about permits as a preview of the rest of the job.

Siding, Eavestrough and Exterior Renovations Are Ours

If the diagnosis lands on eavestrough, downspouts, leaf guards, soffit, fascia or siding installation, that is our work and there is no second phone call to make.

We match siding materials to what is already on the house, use high quality materials throughout, and a clean roof line does more for curb appeal than most owners expect.

Plenty of the roof suspicions we are called out to turn out to be undersized troughs or a blocked outlet. Call us for a free estimate on your next project and we will tell you plainly whether it belongs to us or to a roofer.
